Group194 Statements

Group 194 issued its monthly report on the situation of Palestinian refugees between 1 to 31 June 2019. The report was prepared by colleague "Roaa Abdo Hussein" and translated and edited by Alhourriah English Staff. The report reads as follows:

Syria:

On 12/7: The Palestinian refugee Fahd Salim al-Saadi was martyred in the desert of Homs Governorate. He was born in 1970, and of Yarmouk camp residents. His body was taken to Yarmouk camp for burying it in the new cemetery of the camp.

On 13/7: The Olympic Sports Week was concluded in Jaramana camp, with the participation of more than 20 Palestinian players for multiple age groups and various sports. The participating players and coaches were honored and excellent levels were presented in chess, ping pong, combat and karate games. The ceremony was attended by a number of Palestinian officials and dignitaries in the camp.

On 11/7: Despite all the difficulties facing Palestinians in Syria, and their lack of material possibilities , in addition to the economic, living and psychological pressures, a number of Palestinian students achieved the first positions at the level of the Syrian cities and governorates in the results of the secondary school examinations in their scientific and literary branches, the first cycle of 2019.

On 11/7: On the occasion of International Refugee Day, the General Union of Palestinian Teachers honored a group of Palestinian teachers in Aleppo who were born in Palestine during the Nakba. The ceremony was attended by a number of personalities and representatives of the Palestinian factions and a crowd of Palestinian masses. The ceremony included children's songs about the Palestinian struggle.

On 16/7: A fire broke out in a shop in Homs Camp, where the residents and fire brigade worked to extinguish it, without knowing the causes of the fire. Damage was limited to material.

On 17/7: The Charity and Social Services Association held a free medical day in Daraa camp, where a team of specialist doctors in pediatric medicine, general medicine, internal medicine, women and bones participated in this day, where dozens of cases were examined and the drug was dispensed free of charge.

On 17/7: Three brothers from the Khan Dannoun camp were injured in a traffic accident. They were hit by a motorcyclist who was driving too quickly. They were immediately rushed to a hospital for necessary tests and treatments, while the motorcyclist fled to unknown destination.

On 23/7: The Palestinian athlete refugee in Syria, Murad Mustafa, won the first place in the Syrian Arab Republic in the first class of bodybuilding, weight of 100 kg, which took place in Fayhaa sports hall in Damascus.

On 25/7: The Palestinian student officer "Ghassan Mohammed Halawa", won the first place in sports at the ‘‘School of Signal’’. He is the brother of the first lieutenant "Khairuddin" of the Palestine Liberation Army who was martyred in the Adra area of Damascus. They are from Khan Danoun camp for Palestinian refugees in rural Damascus.

On 25/7: The residents of the town of Al-Mzaireeb, western Daraa countryside south of Syria in general, and 1700 Palestinian familiesin particular, suffer from harsh conditions due to lack of aid, high prices and widespread unemployment.

On 26/7: The official of the education file for Yarmouk camp students, Walid al-Kurdi, called on the residents of Yarmouk camp to register their children for all classes including the new students for the academic year 2019-2020.

On 27/7: The Palestinian refugees in the town of Tzeil, in Daraa, appealed to all concerned parties, UNRWA, the PLO and human rights organizations to find out a solution to their suffering and to provide them with financial assistance for the reconstruction of their homes.

On 27/7: Palestinian refugees from the Henderat refugee camp in Aleppo renewed their demands for UNRWA to help them and rebuild their destroyed homes in the camp. The claimants stressed that UNRWA should seek to provide rent allowance, and increase the food parcels not reducing them.

On 29/7: The Syrian Arab Red Crescent Society provided (39) medical parcels for children from age one day to one year for its registered residents in the Daraa refugee camp in southern Syria.

Lebanon:

On 2/7: The Palestinian student from Syria, "Gala Khaled Al-Khatib" achieved a distinctive success in the examination of basic education certificate for the year 2019, at the first rank in the school of Beit Jala Siblin area in the south of Lebanon, and ranked 24th in Lebanon.

On 3/7: The Palestinian student Raghad Ibrahim Al-Khatib, excelled in the mental account at the level of Lebanon, during the national championship of mental arithmetic "UCMAS", that was held in the city of Dabiya in Mount Lebanon district. Raghad was awarded the "Champion" title after competing with hundreds of students from different areas of Lebanon. Then she was qualified to represent Lebanon in the International Mental Arithmetic competition which will be held in Cambodia.

On 6/7: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Haifa Hospital in cooperation with Anera Society, announced the arrival of a US medical team specializing in internal diseases , and will make checkups for the patients who are interested.

On 6/7: Al-Amal Club in Burj Al-Barajneh camp in Beirut, honored the two Palestinian brothers from syria, "Bisher Mazen Yousef" and "Aws Mazen Yousef" for their academic excellence and good conduct. Where the club administration praised their high morals. The two children are receiving sports training in karate in Burj al-Barajneh camp and are living in Shatila camp.

On 7/7: The residents of Beddawi camp in northern Lebanon intend to close the office of director of the camp and hand him over a memorandum rejecting UNRWA's decision to close and merge the schools. In addition to setting up a sit-in tent opposite Al-Battuf school, under the scheme of the Agency to transfer Al-Battuf school located in the camp and merge the students of "Megiddo" school with schools of "Kaokab" and "Ramleh", which is rejected by parents and they warn of its impact on the educational process as a whole.

On 8/7: The young Palestinian from Syria Mohammed al-Jaafari, won the first place in the chess competition organized by the Palestinian Chess Federation on the occasion of the Palestinian Olympiad in the martyr Yasser Arafat compound in Beddawi camp.

On 10/7: Palestinian youth Ismail Basel Ajawi is waiting to travel to the United States to begin his university studies in the field of "Physical and Chemical Biology" at Harvard University, one of the world's most prestigious universities, where Ismail's academic excellence during his years at UNRWA's Deir Yassin High School, enabled him to obtain a grant at Harvard University that would pave the way for his dream of studying medicine.

On 13/7: The family of the Palestinian refugee in Lebanon, Zaki Samir al-Beshtali, 28 years old, from the Ain al-Hilweh camp in Sidon, renewed its appeal to the Palestinian Authority ambassadors in Turkey and Greece, and all concerned human rights and humanitarian organizations, and anyone who can help, to intervene to know the fate of its son, who has been lost while traveling across the Aegean Sea from Turkey to Greece.

On 16/7: Hundreds of Lebanese and Palestinian refugees participated in a mass protest in Al Kula area in the Lebanese capital to protest the measures taken by the Lebanese Ministry of Labor against Palestinian workers and employers in Lebanon.

On 16/7: A political meeting was held at the Palestinian Embassy in Lebanon, included the Joint Palestinian Labor Authority in Lebanon, to discuss the measures taken by the Lebanese Ministry of Labor which negatively have impacted on Palestinian workers and businessmen. The meeting was attended by the Palestinian factions and national forces and representatives of institutions, trade unions, public and legal committees, and Palestinian businessmen, trade unionists and economists.

On 17/7: Security forces in Lebanon prevented a march of Palestinian refugees from heading to the parliament in Beirut to reject the measures against Palestinian workers. The march was organized by the "Coalition of Right of Work for Palestinian Refugees" and Palestinian institutions and associations operating in Lebanon, in rejection of "arbitrary measures against Palestinian workers and merchants in Lebanon, and their right to live in dignity."

On 17/7: A Palestinian family from Syria from Yarmouk refugee camp, launched an appeal to the humanitarian organizations, the Red Crescent, the Red Cross, the civil and relief organizations, the PLO, the Palestinian factions in Lebanon and the donors for helping and saving the life of its child Leen Samer Abd Ala'al who was born prematurely in the eighth month.

On 18/7: The Palestinian refugee, Abdel Majeed Abu Khorj, from the Yarmouk refugee camp suffered a severe heart attack and was moved to hospital, where doctors told his family that he needs an open heart operation, but after the tests, his body was unable to carry the operation.

On 18/7: The formation of the "Palestinian Workers' Rights Support Association" in Lebanon, headed by the Coordinator of Group 194, was declared in the presence of institutions and associations, and with the participation of Palestinian national and economic figures and activists. The participants affirmed their categorical rejection of these unjust decisions against the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, and to keep dealing with the camps in terms of security only, without taking into account the growing population within these camps and the negative consequences on the overall situation of refugees.

On 18/7: A mass sit-in was organized in Al-Burj Al-Shamali camp, in the presence of representatives of the Palestinian factions, popular and civil committees, community institutions, Palestinian social, educational, economic and sports activities, and a crowd of camp residents at the entrance to the camp.

On 19/7: The Palestinian camps and gatherings in the Tire area witnessed a general strike and mass marshes in protest against the unjust decision of the Lebanese Minister of Labor against the Palestinian workers. The general strike took place in the Palestinian camps and gatherings, where thousands of camp residents from various Palestinian political factions participated.

On 19/7: The Palestinian factions and the Lebanese parties in the area of Kharroub held a mass sit-in in Wadi al-Zayneh-Siblin, in rejection to the decision by the Lebanese Ministry of Labor to deal with the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon as foreigners. The sit-in was attended by a popular and political crowd led by the Secretary of the PLO factions, the leaders of the Palestinian and Lebanese parties and forces, religious and community activities and the people of the area.

On 19/7: The residents of the Galilee camp in Baalbek held a mass march in protest against the decision of the Lebanese Minister of Labor, Kamil Abu Suleiman, against the Palestinian workers. The march ended with a sit-in outside the headquarters of the ‘’Palestinian National Security’’, under the slogan "living in dignity and rejecting all the measures of Labor Ministry", with the participation of representatives of the Palestinian factions and Lebanese national and Islamic parties and forces.

On 22/7: The Palestinians in the Lebanese camps expressed their rejection to the decisions of the Minister of Labor against the workers in a new way. Hundreds of Palestinians flew balloons in the camps, and wrote on them letters expressing their peaceful rejection of the Lebanese minister's procedures, under the title ‘’Enough, we want to live in dignity’’.

On 25/7: The Palestinian Federation of Trade Unions in Lebanon confirmed that its meeting with the Lebanese Minister of Labor did not produce any positive results in terms of the demands made by the Federation to the Minister. The Federation said that its delegation insisted on the demands of the Palestinian people and its workers about the necessity to halt the measures taken by the Ministry of Labor, the abolition of work permits and the amendment of the Social Security Law. This opens the door for a serious Lebanese-Palestinian dialogue for the endorsement of all human rights.

On 26/7: The Beddawi camp for Palestinian refugee witnessed a general strike in protest against Labor Minister Kamil Abu Suleiman's decision regarding the Palestinian labor in Lebanon. Sources said that "shops and private institutions or UNRWA institutions closed, the streets and markets were cleared of pedestrians, in response to the strike called by the Palestinian factions and popular committees, in protest against the decision of the Minister of Labor.

On 28/7: The unified field movement in Nahr al-Bared camp held a memorial ceremony for Martyr Ahmed al-Qara, who was shot dead by the Israeli occupation forces in the southern Gaza Strip during the "Friday of the Refugees of Lebanon".

On 30/7: Angry demonstrations took place in the streets of Sidon in Lebanon, condemning and rejecting the decision of the Lebanese Minister of Labor and demanding the government to grant civil and human rights. The demonstrators demanded the Lebanese government to reverse its decision against the Palestinian refugees, valuating the Lebanese positions that stood beside them.

Gaza Strip and the West Bank:

On 2/7: Violent clashes erupted nearness of Yusuf's tomb in the eastern area of occupied Nablus to confront the storming of thousands of settlers to the tomb, near Balata refugee camp in the east. Two young men were evacuated to Rafidia Governmental Hospital in Nablus for treatment after being shot by rubber bullets by the Israeli occupation forces, during the clashes that erupted in Amman Street and around the tomb of Yousef.

On 3/7: Israeli forces arrested a young man from Shu'fat refugee camp after he was hit with live bullets in his foot. According to sources, clashes erupted nearness of the military checkpoint near the entrance of the camp, during which the Israeli occupation forces fired live bullets and tear gas heavily at the youths, injuring a young man in the foot before being arrested.

On 13/7: A 12-years-old child was seriously injured by an explosion in the center of Bureij refugee camp in the central of Gaza Strip.

On 15/7: A force of Israeli soldiers stormed the suburb of Ras Khamis in Shu'fat refugee camp and prevented the entry and exit of Palestinian civilians. The Israeli soldiers stormed the area from the military checkpoint near the entrance of Shu'fat refugee camp and spread through foot and mobile patrols in the main street leading to the camp and the suburb of Ras Khamis. They also closed it and prevented the citizens from entering or leaving the area.

On 15/7: Israeli forces arrested a young man during their incursion into Qalandiya refugee camp and closed the military checkpoint. Sources said that Israeli forces stormed the area and started to close the main road which leading to the military checkpoint "Qalandiya" towards Jerusalem, that causing a severe traffic crisis.

On 17/7: Clashes erupted between Palestinian youth and the Israeli occupation forces in Shu'fat refugee camp, immediately after the Israeli occupation forces storming of it.

On 22/7: The Israeli military court in Ofer sentenced the Palestinian prisoner Islam Abu Hameed from Ama'ari camp to life imprisonment and a financial compensation of NIS 258,000 to be paid after he was accused of killing an Israeli soldier with a marble from the top of a house during an incursion of the camp.

On 24/7: Sources said that Israeli military vehicles moved into the east of Jabalya refugee camp, adding that 6 Israeli military bulldozers moved into Palestinian lands and engaged in leveling and establishing earth mounds.

On 27/7: The Palestinian prisoner Hassan Al-Zaghari suspended his hunger strike in protest against the administrative detention, where the Israeli intelligence agreed to release him after 6 months. Al-Zaghari is from Al-Dheisheh camp and is detained in the cells of Ofer prison.

On 28/7: The Israeli occupation forces reinforced their presence at al-'Arroub refugee camp entrance after throwing Molotov cocktails and firing fireworks towards the military tower, and they threw sound and gas bombs towards the houses of citizen.

The Diaspora:

On 6/7: The Baghdad Provincial Council circulated, in an official letter to all districts, in the Iraqi capital, a decision to grant the Palestinian residents a residency document, which is known in Iraq as “housing endorsement” without the conditions stipulated by ordinary laws.

On 7/7: Turkish coast guard forces arrested 11 irregular Palestinian and Syrian migrants in Mugla province while attempting to reach Greece illegally. Turkish media reported that coast guard crews spotted a rubber boat off the coast of Bodrum city in Mugla with 11 immigrants, intending to cross into one of the Greek islands.

On 8/7: The Greek Immigration Service announced that it would expel the refugees with Greek residences from the houses they live in, which are paid by European funds and work to cut their salaries after three months.

On 9/7: Hundreds of Tunisians and the Palestinian community organized a solidarity sit-in with the Palestinian people in Mohammed Ali Square in Tunis, the sit-in came in response to a call by the "Tunisian General Labor Union" to declare a rejection of the US "deal of the century" and to reaffirm the Tunisian support for the Palestinians and their cause .

On 9/7: Palestinian refugees stuck in Ecuador appealed to the Palestinian ambassador there, the Palestinian ambassador in Lebanon, and all bodies and institutions that concerned with the file of refugees and human rights organizations to solve their problem, end their suffering, provide health care to them and to facilitate their asylum in a third country that preserves their dignity. The refugees called on the international organizations and the European Union to move as quickly as possible to solve their problem and find a European country to host them as refugees after suffering for six months of difficult humanitarian conditions.

On 10/7: About 450 Palestinian refugees from Syria in Qaroura camp on the Greek island of Kyos face compelling humanitarian conditions, after all roads were closed in their faces to European countries, and after limiting them in a temporary camp that is not equipped with the minimum basic needs for receiving refugees.

On 11/7: A group of leaders of Palestinian community, Arab communities and representatives of solidarity and media institutions met with the delegation of the Jordanian Parliamentary Committee of Palestine that visiting the UK. The meeting was organized by European Communication Forum (Europal) in cooperation with the Palestinian British Forum.

On 14/7: Palestinian activists in the Kingdom of Sweden confirmed that the number of Palestinians from Syria who hold Swedish citizenship by the end of 2018 exceeded (22,100) people, according to reports and studies which issued by the Swedish Immigration Service.

On 15/7: The Israeli occupation forces released two Palestinian refugees from Syria who holding the Swedish citizenship after being held at the Ben Gurion Airport for 26 hours. Some close relatives to the refugees said that they tried to enter the Palestinian territories this current month coming from the Kingdom of Sweden, to visit Nazareth from which their families have been displaced, but the occupation authorities prevented them.

On 15/7: Palestinian activists from Syria in Greece called for the protection of migrants in the area of Exarchia in the center of the Greek capital from displacement, following the Greek government's decision to evacuate buildings housing refugees, including children and women.

On 17/7: The Danish Immigration Service granted the Palestinians from Syria a political asylum instead of a humanitarian asylum, provided that they must present an UNRWA card or documents proving that they are Palestinians registered with the UNRWA.

On 18/7: An extensive meeting was held in Berlin, attended by a number of Palestinian and Arab institutions and events, as well as a number of European activists, after the unfair measures that taken by the Lebanese Ministry of Labor to prosecute Palestinian refugee employers and workers under the pretext of organizing foreign labor in Lebanon.

On 17/7: Turkish coastguard forces arrested six Palestinian migrants off the Turkish coast of Bodrum, who tried to reach the Greek islands irregularly, while a number of activists confirmed that six persons, including four members of the same family, are detained in the Turkish city of Izmir. Pointing to the difficulty of communication with them because the Turkish police took their mobile phones from them, and prevented them from communicating with others.

On 19/7: In the presence of representatives of the Palestinian community in Norway and of Palestinian and Norwegian associations, foundations and activists, a meeting was held in Oslo during which they discussed the unfair measures taken by the Lebanese Ministry of Labor, pursuing the Palestinian employers and workers as foreigners in Lebanon. This has been a pressing factor for the Palestinian refugees, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions that they are suffering from.

On 20/7: Palestinian activists in Turkey launched a campaign to pressure the Palestinian Embassy, Palestinian institutions and organizations to shoulder their responsibilities towards the Palestinian refugees from Syria displaced to Turkey, who were affected by Turkish decisions to fine and deport those who do not have temporary residence or asylum (Kamlak) of Syrians, Palestinians and others.

On 20/7: Palestinian refugee Bilal Ajaj Ajaj was born in 1990, has been missed in the Turkish city of Yeni Dogan, and there was no information or news about his fate. He was a resident of Yarmouk camp.

On 21/7: A solidarity stand was held in southern Sweden, in Malmö, with the Palestinians of Lebanon in conjunction with their rejecting movement to the decision of the Lebanese Ministry of Labor. A group of Palestinian people participated in this stand, expressing their solidarity with the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and their rightful demands in work and a decent life.

On 21/7: The Palestinian student from Syria"Abdullah Al-Gharabawi" surpassed his colleagues in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of the Republic in the Turkish city of Sivas, to be the first over all the students of the Faculty of Engineering at a rate of 98%. The graduation ceremony was organized in the presence of the Turkish president, several figures in the country and hundreds of students from the university. Gharbawi was honored and he delivered a speech.

On 22/7: The Palestinian community in London organized a mass demonstration attended by a crowd of Palestinian community members and British human rights activists to denounce the actions that taken by the Lebanese Ministry of Labor against the Palestinian workers and employers in Lebanon, without taking in consideration, the privacy enjoyed by refugees as they are not foreigners like other residents of Lebanese territory, but they are refugees who came to Lebanon forcibly because of the Zionist massacres.

On 22/7: Sources said that the Greek authorities decided to stop giving the refugees and asylum-seekers Social Security Numbers (AMKA), which would make the Palestinian from Syria and the refugees of nationalities deprived of the necessary social assistance such as residence, insurance and medical care.

On 26/7: A number of Palestinian refugees who living in Belgium delivered a letter to the Lebanese Consul in Brussels, Talal Daher, about the Palestinian popular movement in the Palestinian camps in Lebanon rejecting the decision of the Lebanese Minister of Labor.

On 28/7: The Libyan Coast Guard rescued 145 migrants, including Palestinian refugees, after a boat sank off the Libyan coast, 115 migrants were reported missing. The UN refugee agency described the sinking as the "worst tragedy in the Mediterranean" this year". The International Organization for Migration in Libya said that "the sinking incident occurred off the Libyan city of Khoms", 120 km east of the Libyan capital Tripoli.

On 28/7: Turkish authorities released a number of Palestinian refugees from Syria after days of their arrest in Esenyurt as part of a campaign targeting irregular refugees living in Istanbul.

On 28/7: In the presence of representatives of the Palestinian community, institutions, unions and associations in Berlin, with the participation of a delegation of supporters of the DFLP in Berlin, a crowd of members of the Palestinian and Arab community and human rights activists in Germany participated in a solidarity stand that organized in Berlin, with Palestinian refugee workers and employers in Lebanon.

On 28/7: The Saudi Embassy in Lebanon refused to grant a visa to the holders of the Palestinian from Syria documents to perform the ritual of Hajj, despite the completion of the required conditions and papers, and a number of Palestinian refugees confirmed that they submitted the necessary documents for the visa, and were preparing to travel, but the response of the Saudi Embassy in Lebanon rejected anyone with a Syrian travel document.

On 29/7: The Swedish Immigration Service announced on its official website that persons who registered in the Migration Agency's data as stateless persons can obtain permanent rather than temporary residencies under certain conditions.

On 29/7: Palestinian student Darin Yousef Shorbaji, ranked first with a rate of 100% in high school in the year of 2019.

On 30/7: Turkish security forces continue to detain the Palestinian refugee from Syria Khaled Ahmad al-Abtah because he does not have the temporary protection identity of Al-Kamlak, following a campaign launched against the refugees who living in the Turkish city of Istanbul in an irregular manner.

On 31/7: Dozens of Palestinian refugees in the United States staged a sit-in in front of the Lebanese Embassy in New York, in solidarity with the ongoing movement in the Palestinian camps in Lebanon, in rejection of the Lebanese Ministry of Labor procedures that equate the Palestinian refugee worker with the foreign worker.

On 31/7: Palestinian Ambassador in Turkey, "Faid Mustafa" revealed the existence of contacts and efforts with the official Turkish side to settle the situation of Palestinian refugees in Turkey, especially those coming from Syria and Iraq.

Donations:

On 10/7: Saudi Arabia donated an additional $ 2 million to UNRWA. The donation will be allocated to UNRWA's core services, that include: Education, health, relief and social services, in the five Agency's areas of operations in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, according of what the Agency announced.

On 28/7: The UAE announced a $ 50 million grant to UNRWA as a support to provide health projects to refugees, especially mothers, children and vulnerable groups. The grant aims to "implement educational programs for students to grant that they have got there rights of education , and to support the Agency to enable it to continue to provide services to more than 5 million Palestinians."

UNRWA:

On 2/7: UNRWA in Lebanon denied the rumors in that have been circulated recently on some social networking platforms that its spokesman told the Palestinian factions that the United Nations had decided to deport or distribute Palestinian refugees from Lebanon, including Palestinians from Syrian, to other States ".

On 2/7: UNRWA began disbursing financial aid to poor families from the Sultanate of Oman through branches of the Bank of Palestine in Gaza Strip. Sources said that $ 150 distributed to 3000 poor families in Gaza Strip classified under the poverty line, from the owners of the yellow coupon through the Bank of Palestine branches.

On 3/7: "The Palestinian movement in Nahr al-Bared camp," confirmed that we will not remain idle in front of UNRWA's reckless policy and its turning back on the demands of our Palestinian people, pointing out that the Palestinians will move against UNRWA's decisions and policies.

On 4/7: The head of the Popular Committees in Gaza Strip said that an understanding had been reached with UNRWA to solve the problem of dozens of families who have resorted to the UNRWA clinic in the Gaza Strip since more than four months and who live in hard circumstances.

On 4/7: The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Monaco, Isabel, toured Bourj el-Barajneh camp, accompanied by the Deputy Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon. The delegation visited the UNRWA Health Center and reviewed the living conditions of Palestine refugees, the health services of the Agency and the severe poverty fund for poor and needy patients.

On 6/7: UNRWA distributed 10,000 ATM cards to the Palestinian refugees registered in Syria to facilitate the distribution of financial assistance. Sources said that they will send text messages to the phone numbers of cardholders to receive financial assistance using the ATM card, from any Bemo branch in Syria.

On 8/7: UNRWA launched the Palestine Olympics in Lebanon. The event brings together more than 285 Palestinian refugee students in Lebanon, displaced Palestinians from Syria, and students from Lebanon and it lasts for three-days of fun, games and competition in Siblin Training Center.

On 8/7: UNRWA in Daraa announced the start of registering students in Daraa camp in its schools by free, pointing that the registration doesn’t mean the acceptance.

On 9/7: UNRWA underestimated the usefulness of the remarks of US President's counselor Kouchner, on seeking to improve the integration of Palestinian refugees in the Arab states. UNRWA spokesman Sami Mushaashea said that "Kouchner's statements on the issue of Palestinian refugees do not affect the continuation of our work in providing our services."

On 10/7: Dozens of residents of the Beddawi camp, closed the office UNRWA camp director's in protest against the decision to merge UNRWA schools and cancel the school support program. The parents called on the Director General of UNRWA to build a school in the camp, especially that the school reconstruction money is available through the German grant.

On 11/7: UNRWA distributed financial assistance from the European Union's Fund "MADAD" to 3,900 Palestinian refugee families who came from Syria to Jordan, in order to meet their needs in a dignified manner, ensure their protection and strengthen their steadfastness.

On 11/7: The Palestinian Contractors Union warned the UNRWA against the non-payment of contractors' rights and asked it to choose between two options: First, paying the value added tax on the projects that were implemented or taking trade union measures against it by stopping the execution of the projects until the response to their demands.

On 13/7: Dozens of teachers held a sit-in in front of UNRWA's regional headquarters in Beirut to protest the Agency's cuts against the education sector. Participants stressed the refusal to integrate schools and maintain the support program, demanding to fix graduators of the circle of teachers and stop the cuts from the Siblin Center as well as return the resource room assistants to their work and return the quorum of quotas to secondary teachers, as in previous years.

On 17/7: A medical team accompanied by a mobile clinic visited Daraa Palestinian Refugee Camp in southern Syria and provided free treatment and medication to dozens of patients from the camp's residents. 205 people living in the camp, 118 Of them are children and 87 adults benefited from the clinic services provided by “Al-Birr Association for Social Services”.

On 18/7: UNRWA announced the fill of the ATM card for Palestinian refugees from Syria. A sum of (100) US dollars was paid for rent for each Palestinian refugee family from Syria, and food allowance (40 000) Lebanese pounds, about (27) $ per person.

On 26/7: The Regional Director of UNRWA in Lebanon said that "the fact that Palestinians in Lebanon are granted work permits does not affect their status as refugees in relation to the benefits granted to them by UNRWA."

On 30/7: UNRWA spokesperson Sami Mushaashea confirmed the existence of media reports aimed at insulting UNRWA to influence the renewal of its mandate next September. He added that press reports were broadcasted by well-known media networks simultaneously included a series of allegations that pre-empted the findings of an internal investigation committee of senior UNRWA staff on suspicion of misconduct and management.

On 8/7: Democratic Teachers' Committees, the professional framework of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, held a workshop in the central governorate entitled "Thinking Hats Strategy and Role Playing". On 12/7: The Palestinian Democratic Youth Union held the first partisan rehabilitation course for Martyr comrade Mohammad Samir Obaid, which included a number of PDYU university comrades from the Palestinian camps and gatherings in Syria. This course was carried out in the context of the rehabilitation, education and staff building program carried out by the Union targeting all social sectors in the area.

On 14/7: The Palestinian Democratic Youth Union and the Democratic Gathering of UNRWA Staff organized a ceremony in honor of the successful students with official baccalaureate certificates at the Palestinian Cultural Center in Al Burj Al Shamali Camp.

On 15/7: The Palestinian Democratic Youth Union in Lebanon called on Lebanese youth and student organizations and parties to raise their voices and act to stop the unfair practices and measures taken by the Ministry of Labor in Lebanon to prosecute Palestinian employers and workers in Lebanon.

On 18/7: The Palestinian Democratic Youth Union and the Democratic Gathering of UNRWA staff organized a ceremony in honor of the successful Palestinian students with official certificates in Beirut schools. The hall was filled with hundreds of successful and outstanding Palestinian students, and the honoring ceremony turned into a Palestinian national event, during which the students and parents embodied the image of the refugee mixed with feelings of joy, hope and challenge, and a cry in the face of the oppression, injustice and deprivation experienced by the Palestinian refugees as a result of the Lebanese deprivation laws.

On 21/7: The Palestinian Democratic Youth Union and the Democratic Gathering of UNRWA Staff organized a ceremony in honor of the successful Palestinian students with official certificates in Al-Bass camp near Tire in the hall of the Palestinian Cultural Center.

On 21/7: At the invitation of the Palestinian Women's Democratic Organization - Nada - Women's Sector in the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a mass women march was organized through the streets of the camp, echoing the chants of the women participants, which stressed that the suffocating restrictions on the Palestinian refugees have brought the situation to the point of a popular explosion and the need to stop discriminatory policy and lift the injustice and deprivation of the Palestinian people in Lebanon.

On 25/7: The Palestinian Democratic Youth Union and the Democratic Gathering of UNRWA staff organized a ceremony in honor of the successful students in the official certificates in the Galilee camp - Baalbeck, with the participation of Lebanese parties, Palestinian factions, committees and popular unions and the member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front, comrade Ali Faisal.
