The Palestinian health ministry has accused the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) of persisting in depriving Gaza hospitals and health centers of having access to their needs of medical devices and supplies.

According to the health ministry, the IOA has been preventing the entry of medical and diagnostic devices into Gaza for 436 days.

Senior health official Bassam al-Hammadin said that the Israeli persistence in depriving Gaza of vital medical devices and supplies increases the suffering of patients who are in dire need of treatment and surgical intervention.

Hammadin stressed the need for international action to pressure the Israeli government to allow medical appliances, especially X-ray imaging machines, into Gaza.
