Mufti condemns forced expulsion of Muslim worshippers from Al-Aqsa

Sheikh Mohammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine, has condemned the Israeli police for forcibly expelling Muslim worshipers from Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a press statement on Sunday, Sheikh Hussein labeled expelling the Muslim worshippers from Al-Aqsa Mosque as a grave violation, stressing that such a practice constitutes a provocation to the feelings of Muslims.

Sheikh Hussein also condemned the extremist Jewish group's plan to launch massive raids into the Al-Aqsa Mosque next April to celebrate the Jewish holidays.

He called on Arab and Muslim nations to support Palestinian worshippers while they defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque against Israeli desecration.

For his part, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the head of the higher Islamic commission in Occupied Jerusalem and the preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, said that such Israeli attacks aim at imposing spatial and temporal division on the holy site.

Sheikh Sabri warned that the Israeli occupation state started its campaign against the Aqsa Mosque in an attempt to empty it of Muslim worshipers.

Earlier in the morning, hordes of Jewish settlers protected by Israeli police stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque after Muslim worshipers who were performing I’tikaf (religious retreat) were expelled from the holy site.

Last night, a large number of Israeli police forces stormed the al-Qibli prayer building at the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem and forcibly expelled Muslim worshipers from it
